From Trailguru
Our Mission
Trailguru combines the local knowledge of thousands of outdoor users just like you to build a database of information about the outdoors. The premise of Trailguru is that each of us is an expert of at least one area that others would be interested in and that there are the hundreds of areas within our reach that we haven't explored because we don’t know about them. This project aims to use the power of the web to fix that. Our primary goal is to build a route database. Route information tends to be spread across the internet and difficult to find, if it available at all. We are striving to:
- Make it easy to contribute route information by utilizing modern tools like the GPS and wiki technology to contribute and edit these routes.
- Make it easier to find routes in an area that you are interested using tools like Google Earth to browse spatially and traditional web browser to search by keyword.
- Make following a route easier by providing tools that enable planning trips and making it easier to get these route plans back to the GPS.
But really, our goals are anything that makes it easier for you to get into the outdoors.
